ATLAS, TITAN or FORTRESS: Which UPS Series Fits Your Project?
A practical ZYKEVO UPS selection guide comparing ATLAS, TITAN and FORTRESS Series for server rooms, small data centers, weak grid and industrial backup power projects.
Why series selection matters
Different UPS projects do not need the same UPS topology. A server rack, a small data center, a weak grid industrial site and a long-runtime backup power project may require different UPS series.
For ZYKEVO projects, the main selection path is usually ATLAS, TITAN or FORTRESS. The right choice depends on capacity, input/output phase, load type, site power condition and backup time requirement.
When ATLAS Series is usually suitable
ATLAS Series is a single phase online UPS range for 1kVA to 10kVA projects. It is usually considered for:
- Server racks
- Network cabinets
- Small server rooms
- IT rooms
- Monitoring and security systems
- Small business critical equipment
ATLAS is often suitable when the customer needs true online double conversion protection but the load is still within a single phase UPS capacity range.
When TITAN Series is usually suitable
TITAN Series is a three phase high frequency online UPS range for 10kVA to 200kVA projects. It is usually considered for:
- Larger server rooms
- Small and mid-sized data center rooms
- Network infrastructure
- Commercial critical loads
- Projects moving beyond single phase UPS capacity
TITAN is often suitable when the project needs three phase input/output, higher capacity and online protection for IT or commercial backup power applications.
When FORTRESS Series is usually suitable
FORTRESS Series is a three phase low frequency UPS range for 10kVA to 300kVA projects. It is usually considered for:
- Weak grid sites
- Industrial loads
- Long-runtime backup power projects
- Sites requiring isolation transformer support
- Impact load or difficult utility power conditions
FORTRESS should be reviewed when the site condition is more demanding than a standard commercial UPS application.
Where battery configuration fits in
UPS selection is not complete without battery planning. The battery side affects backup time, footprint, maintenance and total project cost.
A project may use:
- Internal UPS batteries for short backup time
- External battery cabinets for longer runtime
- Lead-acid battery replacement for existing UPS systems
- High-voltage lithium battery systems for selected compatible UPS projects
ZYKEVO high-voltage lithium battery systems should be positioned as UPS companion battery products. They are not general home storage or grid-scale BESS products.
Information needed before recommending a series
To choose the right UPS series, collect:
- Required UPS capacity in kVA or kW
- Input and output voltage
- Single phase or three phase requirement
- Real load and load type
- Required backup time
- Utility power condition and generator use
- Battery preference and installation space
- Whether the project is new installation, UPS replacement or battery upgrade
Quick selection direction
Choose ATLAS when the project is a 1kVA to 10kVA single phase online UPS application for server racks, IT rooms or network equipment.
Choose TITAN when the project needs three phase high frequency online UPS from 10kVA to 200kVA for server rooms, small data centers or commercial critical loads.
Choose FORTRESS when the project needs low frequency UPS support for weak grid, industrial load, transformer-based or long-runtime applications from 10kVA to 300kVA.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Choosing by capacity only without checking phase and voltage
- Using a standard online UPS for a harsh weak grid site without review
- Ignoring real load and backup time
- Selecting battery configuration after the UPS quotation is already fixed
- Promising lithium retrofit before UPS compatibility is checked
